FC Barcelona Femení will be crowned league champions early, according to a new report. The women’s league will not be restarted this season, meaning the Spanish federation will make decisions about promotions, relegations, championships, and European competitions this week.
The report is said to be unveiled Friday, with the federation still deciding between two scenarios to decide promotion and relegation. What is already decided, however, is that the champions will be Barcelona, with 59 points. Atlético Madrid will remain second with 50. The two teams would play in the UEFA Women’s Champions League next season.
This would be Barcelona women’s first league crown since 2015, and their fifth ever.
