Moussa Wagué, who plays at OGC Nice on loan from Barcelona, will return to Catalonia as the French club will not use their purchase clause on the fullback, according to their official website.
The Senegalese international made a handful of appearances for the blaugrana this season before being loaned out for more playing time in the winter transfer window.
The Ligue 1 season has been suspended so Wagué has presumably kicked his last ball in an official match as a Nice player. The French club thanked him for his contribution, saying he “will be remembered for a long time.”
The 21-year-old had a purchase clause set at 10 million euro, but Nice decided against using it after the season was cut short. It remains to be seen what the next step is for the right-back, who had trouble finding playing time with Nélson Semedo and Sergi Roberto in the mix.
