PSG said to have “torpedoed” Barcelona’s pursuit of Lautaro Martínez

Will the deal fail to materialize?

Lautaro Martínez’s proposed move to Barcelona could be collapsing, with Paris Saint-Germain playing a part in the affair, according to Catalan media.

PSG’s capture of Mauro Icardi has given Inter Milan some extra cash which they can use to improve their team. That, coupled with a lack of outgoing sales from Barcelona’s perspective, means that neither do Inter badly need to accept a sale of Lautaro, nor do Barcelona have unequaled financial strength to make an offer they can’t refuse.

The offer that has been rumored is 65 million euro plus Junior Firpo, but it seems Inter may not accept that deal.

Barcelona are expected to attempt to make moves but only if it can get some cash flow by transferring the likes of Jean-Clair Todibo, Philippe Coutinho, Arthur, or Nélson Semedo.

Then, they could make a push for Lautaro.

The Catalans’ strongest card is the fact the Argentine striker reportedly is very excited at the prospect of joining his fellow countryman Lionel Messi at the Camp Nou.
