FC Barcelona has agreed to sell Arthur for 72.5 million pounds, around 80 million euros, to Juventus, according to Sky Sports News. However, this news comes with significant caveats
BREAKING: Juventus have agreed a £72.5m fee with Barcelona to sign Arthur.— Sky Sports News (@SkySportsNews) June 23, 2020
First of all, Sky Sports reports that Arthur has not yet agreed to join Juve. In fact, the opposite: they say that the player wants to remain at Barcelona and stake his claim. This has always been the biggest stumbling block in a potential deal.
Secondly, Barcelona’s top two sports papers agree in saying that club sources deny having agreed to sell Arthur.
It is understood Barcelona are interested in letting Arthur go in part exchange for Miralem Pjanić. The Catalans also want a substantial amount of extra cash on top to sweeten the deal, and/or additional players.
