Barcelona manager Quique Setien says it would be “reckless” for Luis Suarez to play the whole 90 minutes against Real Mallorca on Saturday.
The Uruguay international has been cleared to return to action after undergoing knee surgery in January, but Setien is clearly prepared to be cautious with the striker.
He told Tot Costa: “Suárez could play from the start, but I find it reckless to make him play the whole game.”
Setien also said he had “no doubt” that Lionel Messi would make the game after shrugging off a minor injury and returning to full training this week.
The Barca boss must now decide whether to start Suarez at Son Moix or keep him on the bench with a view to bringing him on in the second half.
