Barcelona B have been hit with a blow ahead of this weekend’s promotion playoff with news that Alex Collado has been ruled out for three months due to injury.

The midfielder “suffered a stress fracture of the second metatarsal of his left foot” in training on Wednesday and faces a lengthy spell out.

Collado will be a big miss for García Pimienta’s team who take on Valladolid Promeses on Sunday at the Estadio Ciudad de Málaga.

The 21-year-old is a key player for the B team and has been a regular in first-team training too this season, even featuring in the defeat to Valencia in January.

Barca B are also expected to be without Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig on Sunday, because they will be with the first team, but Collado’s injury could change things.
