Barcelona vs Bayern Munich live blog, full-time: Barça’s season ends with worst Champions League defeat ever

FULL-TIME, Barcelona 2-8 Bayern: Our worst European defeat in history. It’s hard to describe the pain.

GOAL, Barcelona 2-8 Bayern (Coutinho 89’): It’s eight. Coutinho again.

GOAL, Barcelona 2-7 Bayern (Coutinho 85’): Philippe Coutinho makes it seven. Yes.

GOAL, Barcelona 2-6 Bayern (Lewandowski 82’): It’s six. Coutinho gets an assist and Lewandowski gets an easy header in the six-yard box. Goal confirmed after a lengthy VAR check.

77min: Messi with a shot from inside the box that Neuer claims easily again. Bad night for Leo despite all that’s wrong with the rest of the team.

75min: Philippe Coutinho comes on for Bayern. He’s totally scoring, right?

73min: Barça try to muster some attacking energy as Ansu Fati comes on but there’s nothing left on the team and Bayern continue to find space and create chances.

68min: Semedo’s nightmare continues as he loses another ball at the edge of the box and Coman can’t score thanks to a brilliant challenge by Alba.

GOAL, Barcelona 2-5 Bayern (Kimmich 63’): Bayern score again. Davies destroys Semedo on the left wing and finds Kimmich for a tap-in.

60min: Barça lose another ball in midfield and Perisic fires a shot over the bar.

GOAL! Barcelona 2-4 Bayern (Suárez 57’): Barça get one back! Alba finds Suárez who turns Boateng around and scores a nice goal.

53min: OFFSIDE. Bayern easily score a fifth goal but it’s disallowed for an offside by Müller.

51min: Another chance for Bayern, this time Goretzka is all alone in the box but fires over the bar.

49min: First chance of the second half goes to Bayern with a shot from Perisic and a good save for Ter Stegen.

SECOND HALF KICKOFF, Barcelona 1-4 Bayern: This is about dignity and not making this worse. Show some fight, guys.

HALFTIME, Barcelona 1-4 Bayern: The worst 45 minutes in Barcelona history are over. So is our Champions League season.

36min: Barça continue to lose balls at the back and Bayern continue to fire shots at goal. This is embarrassing.

GOAL, Barcelona 1-4 Bayern (Müller 31’): It’s four for Bayern. Barça lose another ball at the back, Kimmich plays a cross at the near post and Müller scores his second of the game. This is truly painful now.

28min: Almost a fourth. Ter Stegen with another bad pass, Lewandowski is one-on-one with the keeper but MATS makes a big stop.

GOAL, Barcelona 1-3 Bayern (Gnabry 27’): It’s three for Bayern. Lewandowski with a brilliant lob pass, Gnabry gets in behind Lenglet and fires it home. It’s a massacre.

26min: CLOSE! Great cross from Messi and Lenglet’s header goes just wide.

24min: Barça lose another ball inside their own half and Thiago has a shot from distance. Barça’s inability to deal with Bayern’s press is alarming.

GOAL, Barcelona 1-2 Bayern (Perisic 21’): Bayern score again. Sergi Roberto loses a dangerous ball in midfield, Gnabry finds Perisic and Perisic scores with his left foot.

20min: CHANCE! Messi has a chance to run at the Bayern defense, gets in great position inside the box but fires a weak shot that Neuer claims easily.

19min: Bayern bringing all sorts of pressure with crosses from open play and corners, but Piqué and Lenglet have dealt with everything so far.

16min: Bayern winning A LOT of balls in midfield as Barça continue to misplace easy passes at the back.

13min: Chance for Bayern as Müller finds Lewandowski in the box and the Polish striker fires over the bar. Nervy start at the back for Barça.

10min: POST!!! Messi with a cross that goes past everybody and hits the far post! Two huge chances in one minute!

9min: NEUER! Brilliant run and pass from Semedo to find Suárez, but Neuer stops the Uruguayan from scoring Barça’s second.

GOAL!!! Barcelona 1-1 Bayern (Alaba OG 7’): BARÇA EQUALIZE!!! Brilliant long pass from Lenglet to find Alba, he crosses it to Suárez and David Alaba tries to clear it but deflects it against his own goal!

GOAL, Barcelona 0-1 Bayern (Müller 4’): Bayern take the lead. Perisic with the cross, Müller makes a one-two with Lewandowski and finds the bottom corner with his left foot. Bad start for the Barça defense.

2min: NEUER! Sergi Roberto with the cross, Boateng can’t clear it and Neuer saves it with his feet before Suárez can score at the far post!

1min: Bayern line up as expected in a 4-2-3-1, while Barça start in a 4-4-2/4-3-3 hybrid as Arturo Vidal plays on the left wing and will help in midfield all night.

KICKOFF! Barcelona 0-0 Bayern: And we’re underway! Come on, boys!
