Reports on Wednesday have suggested that Bartomeu wants to talk to Messi directly to try and convince the captain to change his mind and stay at the Camp Nou.
Sporting director Ramon Planes also talked about Messi during Francisco Trincao’s unveiling and made it clear Barcelona really don’t want their captain to leave.
Messi is being heavily linked with a move to Manchester City currently but is expected at Barcelona on Sunday for PCR testing before starting pre-season on Monday.
