Barcelona went back to work on Monday as Ronald Koeman held his first training session at the club since replacing Quique Setien at the helm.

There were a fair few absentees for various reasons, including Ivan Rakitic, who was granted “special permission” to miss the session as he closes in on a move to Sevilla.

In total 19 players took to the pitches at the Ciutat Esportiva Joan Gamper including Gerard Pique, Luis Suarez, Ousmane Dembele, Jordi Alba and Arturo Vidal.

Barcelona B youngsters Arnau Tenas. Sergio Akieme, Jorge Cuenca, Konrad de la Fuente, Ilaix Moriba and Monchu were also present.

The players are back tomorrow for more as they continue preparations for their first game of the season against Villarreal at the Camp Nou.
