Barcelona’s win over Napoli means the Catalans are into the quarter-finals of the Champions League for the 13th season in a row.
Lionel Messi took a hefty knock against Napoli in the first half, but the injury is not thought to be serious and he will be fine to face Bayern in the quarter-finals.
Barcelona manager Quique Setien praised his side after their victory. He admitted Napoli caused problems but added: “the team played well and deserved the victory.”
Gattuso felt his side missed a good chance to beat Barca. He said: “We played as a team, but the biggest regret is that we fell asleep for half-an-hour and gifted the tie to Barca.”
Dries Mertens was also full of regrets after the defeat at the Camp Nou. He added: “We did well in the first 10 minutes, then just gifted them the game.”
Clement Lenglet and Frenkie de Jong both shone in the win over Napoli, while there was also a surprise late on when Barcelona B captain Monchu made his debut.
