Ansu Fati’s hip injury is not thought to be too serious and the teenager is expected to be fit for Barcelona’s first game of the season against Villarreal.

The teenager suffered the injury in training on Friday after a clash with Ronald Araujo and is expected to be sidelined for around 10 days, according to AS.

He will miss the two pre-season friendlies against Nastic and Girona but should be back to full fitness by the time Villarreal arrive at the Camp Nou.

The news will be a big boost to Barcelona and new boss Ronald Koeman, as Fati is being tipped for a big role next season.

Recent reports have suggested Ansu Fati will play at the top of a 4-2-3-1 formation, supported by Lionel Messi, Antoine Griezmann and Ousmane Dembele.
