Speculation that Nélson Semedo will join Wolverhampton Wanderers continues to grow as reports pour in that the fullback’s move away from FC Barcelona is advancing.
He was allowed to miss training as the deal was getting close to completion, and now we are hearing that the transfer could be announced tomorrow.
On the plus side, Nelson Semedo's medical was sorted this afternoon and he'll be announced as a Wolves player tomorrow in a £29m deal x— Tim Spiers (@TimSpiers) September 21, 2020
The fee would be 29 million pounds, or around 35 million euros.
He joined Barcelona from Benfica in 2017, for a deal worth 30.5 million euros that increased by 5 million more for every 50 games he played.
He has been capped 13 times by Portugal and won the inaugural Nations League with them. He won La Liga twice, and Copa del Rey and the Spanish Supercup once each, with Barcelona. He never established himself as firmly first choice ahead of Sergi Roberto, however.
Sergiño Dest of Ajax has been mentioned as a possible replacement for him at the Camp Nou.
