Luis Suarez took time out to send a special goodbye message to Barcelona fans on his last day with the Catalan giants on Thursday.
Barca said farewell to the striker with a special ceremony at the club. Team-mates Lionel Messi, Gerard Pique, Sergi Roberto, Jordi Alba, and Sergio Busquets were all in attendance.
Suarez said his goodbyes to the club and then turned his attentions to supporters:
“Hello, to all culers. I wanted to say goodbye to all of you. This isn’t a ‘goodbye forever,’ but rather a ‘see you later,’ because for sure, I will return to the club at some point. This club has given my everything, and I’ll never forget all the great moments I’ve had. So, thank you to all of you. A big hug for all of you. Always remember it. Visca el Barca. Onward and upward.”
Another message followed shortly afterwards on his personal Twitter account:
