Spain boss Luis Enrique spoke about Ansu Fati and the need to protect the Barcelona youngster after he made his debut against Germany on Thursday.
The 17-year-old came off the bench at half-time in the 1-1 Nations League draw in Stuttgart to continue what’s been a fine year for the youngster.
Enrique seemed delighted with his performance after the match and made it clear he has an exciting future ahead of him with the national side.
“Ansu has demonstrated what we already know about he. He is a very special and very different player. We must protect him. He is a very mature player and today he has proved he can be a very important player for us. I am sure he is going to be very important for the national team.”
Spain, and hopefully Fati. are back in action on Sunday when they play Ukraine in Madrid.
