Sergio Busquets has been talking about Barcelona’s good form after making his 600th appearance for the Catalan giants in the club’s 4-0 win over Granada on Saturday.
The midfielder said he’s “happy and proud” to hit the landmark and also thinks his team are heading in the right direction after an underwhelming start to the season.
“It’s a good moment for us. We knew that in terms of results at the beginning we weren’t getting the results we wanted but it was the way to go. We were creating opportunities but we were always starting off losing the games because of mistakes.
“Now we are a lot more solid. We are still creating opportunities and scoring goals which makes things easier. Let’s hope we we can continue like this to grow as a team.”
Busquets also spoke about Barca’s upcoming fixture in the Spanish Super Cup. Real Sociedad are up next and the midfielder is hoping his team can go on and lift the trophy in Seville.
“We are very excited we are on a good run. Let’s hope we can prove that at the Spanish Super Cup, we are very close to the first title of the season and we want to fight for it.”

Barca head into the match on an eight-game unbeaten run which also included a 2-1 victoy over La Real in December. Imanol Alguacil’s men have managed just one win since then in five games, beating rivals Athletic 1-0 on New Year’s Eve.
