Eric García will certainly be a Barcelona player, and it’s merely a matter of when, and not if, according to a new report. The Manchester City player is said to have agreed a contract with his former team, meaning he will join Barcelona at the end of this season unless he is allowed to join earlier.
A deal would have to be struck with the English club in order for him to come in before the transfer window shuts on the first of February. Then, the negotiation would have to be approved by the new Barcelona president should he be elected before then, or if elections are delayed, by all candidates.
García reportedly turned down a bigger offer from City in order to force his move, and it’s understood the English club is willing to make a deal for the right price.
The next ten days could be important in finalizing such a transfer.
The young defender, 20 years old, came up through La Masia but left for City in 2017.
