The January transfer window may be open but it’s pretty quiet out there with plenty of clubs across Europe struggling financially due to the financial effects of the coronavirus pandemic.
Yet that hasn’t stopped the rumor mill from turning completely. Sky Sports are still busy working and reckon that Arsenal quite like the look of Barcelona back-up goalkeeper Neto.
Coach Mikel Arteta was said to be keen on the Brazilian last summer and hasn’t forgotten about the 31-year-old who is on his shopping list of goalkeepers once again.
Yet there is one teeny problem. Barcelona are said to want at least £18.6m for Neto which looks to be out of the Gunners’ reach. The Premier League side would prefer a loan deal with an option to buy which makes a transfer “unlikely” for now.
Neto arrived at Barcelona from Valencia in 2019 on a four-year contract in a deal that saw Jasper Cillessen head the other way.
The goalkeeper filled in pretty well for Marc-Andre ter Stegen at the start of the season, as the German recovered from knee surgery, but hasn’t featured for Barca since the win over Ferencvaros at the start of December.
