Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola has admitted that his player, Eric García, could leave in the January transfer window.
Asked if García could be leaving, Guardiola replied: “I hope not, but maybe someone from Barcelona knows more than me.”
The 20-year-old defender recently turned down a contract extension, meaning he can join for free at the end of the season if City do not sell him soon.
“I don’t know what’s going to happen, but maybe it’s going to happen,” the former Barcelona manager said.
García, like Guardiola, was a product of Barcelona’s youth academy. He is said to be keen on returning to his home club.
The defender is back in contention to play against Crystal Palace, following a spell of isolation after contracting coronavirus.
”I think Eric García will [be back fit]. Nathan [Ake] and Ayme [Laporte] are still not fit, Sergio [Agüero] I don’t think so. The rest I think are okay.” Guardiola said.
