Lionel Messi is being tipped to start Sunday’s Spanish Super Cup final against Athletic in Seville after returning to training with the Catalan giants.
The skipper sat out the semi-final win over Real Sociedad but trained as normal on Saturday evening and took part in Sunday’s light session.
Cadena SER are reporting that Messi has decided he wants to play and will be back in the starting XI for the match unless there was any reaction to Sunday’s session.
Ronald Koeman spoke about Messi in his pre-match presser and said they would wait until the morning of the match to make any decision on the captain.
Barca obviously don’t want to take any risks with the Argentina international, but it seems there’s a good chance he might make his return on Sunday night.
