Riqui Puig and Sergino Dest have both reacted to Barcelona’s Super Cup final defeat to Athletic Club by posting motivational messages on social media.
Puig came on in extra-time for Barcelona after scoring the decisive penalty against Real Sociedad in the semi-finals but could not help force another shootout.
Yet the youngster seems in pretty determined mood and has urged Barca to dust themselves down after a tough loss.
“Tough defeat in the final of the Super Cup when we had it close. It’s time to get up and continue fighting for all that remains this season, which is why we are Barça!”
Dest posted a message with a similar theme on Instagram. He wrote: “There’s no more powerful lesson than knowing that setbacks will one day help you succeed.”

The full-back returned from injury and started the game in Seville but was forced off at half-time and replaced by Oscar Mingueza. Barca now have two days off before Thursday’s Copa del Rey game against Cornella, but it’s not clear if Dest will be available for that match.
