Barcelona are reportedly hoping to announce next week that center-back Eric Garcia will join the club from Manchester City at the end of the season.

Interim president Carles Tusquet met with the three presidential candidates and manager Ronald Koeman on Wednesday afternoon to discuss a number of issues.

One of the topics on the table was Garcia. Koeman made it clear he wants the defender in January, but it was eventually agreed the club will wait until the summer, according to Sport.

Garcia has already reportedly agreed personal terms and Barca now hope to make an announcement that he will be returning at some point next week.

The 20-year-old will be a free agent when his contract expires in the summer, while Barca would have had to splash out around €10 million to bring him in this month.
