Xavi says “he’s open to all possibilities” amid continued speculation he could replace Ronald Koeman as coach of Barcelona.
The Dutchman’s future remains uncertain after a disappointing start to the new season, although president Joan Laporta does seem to be backing the coach for now.
Upcoming games against Valencia, Dynamo Kiev, and Real Madrid could go a long way to deciding Koeman’s future, particularly if he can’t deliver some wins.
Xavi and Roberto Martinez have been touted as possible replacements and the former Barcelona midfielder has told TVE what he thinks about the current rumors.
“Any offer that arrives will be valued and decided,” he said. “I don’t know what will happen in the future, but I am open to all possibilities.”
Barcelona have already tried to recruit Xavi on a couple of occasions but have been turned down by the club legend who didn’t feel the time was right.
Yet Xavi also said back in June he feels ready to take on the job and it’s likely Barca will come calling again if Koeman’s team continues to struggle in 2021-22.
