Some good news on the injury front

Ousmane Dembele and Sergio Aguero were a welcome sight on the Barcelona training ground on Monday as the two attackers worked out with the rest of the squad for the first time this season.

Both players are finally closing in on a return to action after missing the start of the campaign due to injury and undertook some light training as the squad got back to work after a few days off.

The return of Dembele and Aguero will be a big boost to Ronald Koeman after a tough start to the campaign and, along with fit-again Ansu Fati, will increase the Dutchman’s attacking options.

It’s not completely clear when both players will actually get the medical green light to play, but there had been speculation Aguero could finally make his debut in Barca’s next game against Valencia on Sunday.

Barca return to action with something of a bang with three games against Valencia, Dynamo Kiev, and Real Madrid in a week and Koeman surely can’t afford too many more poor performances and results.

The Dutch coach has repeatedly highlighted how the club’s injuries have had a big influence on the team’s start to the season, and the pressure will now be on to deliver with Fati back and Aguero and Dembele soon to follow.
