GOOD BARCELONA NEWS. I repeat, we in fact have some good Barcelona news everyone. According to a new report from our old pal Fabrizio Romano, Barcelona and Pedri have reached an agreement on a contract extension.

The new contract runs until 2026 and contains a pretty wild release clause aimed at putting off any potential admirers.

Barcelona have reached total agreement with Pedri to extend his contract until June 2026, here we go! New deal to be signed in the next hours/days. Final clauses agreed and fixed too. #FCB EXCL: new release clause for Pedri will be €1B (one billion). #Pedri

It’s hard to express how nice this is to hear. Since it's coming from Fabrizio, I pretty much take it as fact, but it’ll still be especially nice to see the official release from Barcelona. Pedri is a staple of the club already and vital to its future. This is wonderful to see.

It's thought the news will be made officially official on Friday with Barca expected to hold a press conference to announce the new contract.

Barca are also being tipped to announce an extension for Ansu Fati next and could then work on new deals for Ronald Araujo and Gavi.
