FC Barcelona will finalise the appointment of Xavi Hernandez either on Wednesday or Thursday in Doha. The former Barça midfielder will be the club's new coach, as SPORT first revealed last Thursday.

Barcelona are looking at box to box midfielders, with Xavi wanting the team to reinforce in that area in January. The club is searching for market opportunities and it seems like Tanguy Ndombele might be an option. Tottenham, with Antonio Conte as their new coach, want AC Milan’s Kessie. He is similar to Nbombele and it means they’ll let the Frenchman go. He is not happy at Tottenham.

Philippe Coutinho is one of the players who will suffer from the end of the Ronald Koeman era. He's returned to the bench under Sergi Barjuan and the feeling at the club is that the moment has arrived to move him on permanently as it's unlikely he will get minutes within the style of play Xavi Hernandez will apply.
