Ronald Koeman said he thought Barcelona “deserved more” from Wednesday’s Copa del Rey semi-final clash against Sevilla at the Ramon Sanchez-Pizjuan Stadium.
The visitors saw their cup hopes take a huge hit after going down to a 2-0 defeat after goals from Jules Kounde and former midfielder Ivan Rakitic.
Koeman felt his side played well throughout the tie and also warned Sevilla that his team “are capable of anything” at the Camp Nou.
“I think we deserved more. We played well and created scoring chances. I think the result doesn’t reflect what happened on the pitch, it’s too much of a reward to them for what happened.
“We’re in a good moment, and we’ll continue to fight. We played well, but we played against a great team, and a very physical one. We had opportunities. There’s VAR, but I think we should have had a penalty.
“We have to analyse the game. There are many games before the second leg, and there’s been great wear-and-tear. We have to try to play to win in the second leg, and there’s hope, although the tie is difficult. At home this team are capable of anything.”

Barca did have chances of their own but found goalkeeper Bounou in good form, while they will feel they should have been awarded a penalty when Jordi Alba went down in the box but a free-kick just outside the area was given instead.
