It would have been a homecoming for the Brazilian

Neymar publicly expressed his frustration with missing today’s clash between FC Barcelona and Paris Saint-Germain in the UEFA Champions League, as he continues to recover from injury.

“Top 3 of the games I most wanted to play,” he wrote on Twitter, accompanied by a crying emoji.

Neymar would be making his return to the Camp Nou after leaving Barcelona. The Brazilian has been linked with a return almost every year since, although a reunion with his pal. Lionel Messi, has never actually come to fruition.

Now rumors are that Neymar wants the reunion to happen in Paris, with the French press openly discussing a move for the Argentine to join PSG.

The Parisians will also be without Ángel Di María, another player who has spoken glowingly about the possibility of Messi joining PSG. Barcelona will notably be without Ronald Araújo in defense.

PSG will also be missing Juan Bernat and Timothée Pembélé, while Marco Verratti, Rafinha, and Colin Dagba are considered doubts.

The Catalans, on the other hand, will be without Philippe Coutinho, Martin Braithwaite, Ansu Fati, and Sergi Roberto. Gerard Piqué has been declared fit but may not yet be match-ready.
