Ronald Araujo is still not back from an ankle injury but the hope is that the Uruguay international could be back in time to face Sevilla in the second leg of the Copa del Rey semi-finals.
Coach Ronald Koeman refused to set a date on Araujo’s return earlier today in his press conference but did admit “he’s getting better” and could be available by the weekend.
Mundo Deportivo are even more optimistic and reckon Araujo may get minutes at Sevilla in La Liga in Saturday and then be in contention to start the semi-final at the Camp Nou on March 3.
Koeman will certainly be keen to have Araujo back for such a crucial game.
Barca need to overturn a 2-0 deficit to make it through to the final and it’s going to be a tough ask against a mean Sevilla defense. The task will be made even harder if Barca concede another to Julen Lopetegui’s side at the Camp Nou.
