Ronald Koeman seemed pretty happy with his Barcelona team’s performance against Paris Saint-Germain on Wednesday despite the Catalans heading out of the tournament.

Barca could only draw 1-1 at the Parc des Princes which means the French champions head into the quarter-finals 5-2 on aggregate.

Koeman felt his side deserved more from Wednesday’s match but said the team leave with good feelings after a strong showing.

“We are eliminated, but we leave feeling good [about ourselves],” he said.

“We had chances to make things difficult for the opposition. We played a great first half, we were superior, with a great attitude.

“We deserved more. At least a 1-2 at half time. That would have made all the difference.”

The Barca boss was asked afterwards if the team lacked a No. 9 after missing a host of chances against PSG and admitted his side weren’t clinical enough.

“It’s true. It’s also not normal to create so many chances against a strong team, like today,” he added.

“We took risks, we had to defend one on one. I think the play without the ball today was phenomenal.

“We need to be more clinical. That’s the difference between us. With a lot less chances [at the Camp Nou], they scored more goals.”

There’s no doubt it was a great effort by Barcelona and with better finishing they may just have pulled off yet another remarkable comeback against PSG.
