Ronald Araujo was back in full training on Saturday as Barcelona returned to work with the focus on Monday’s La Liga clash against Huesca.
The Uruguay international hasn’t featured since picking up an injury on his return from a sprained ankle against Sevilla at the end of February.
Araujo completed the session well and now looks set to be included in Barca’s matchday squad for Monday’s clash against La Liga’s bottom side, according to AS.
The return of the youngster will be a big boost to Ronald Koeman who remains without Gerard Pique due to knee trouble. The report reckons Pique could be back for the game against Real Sociedad or, failing that, after the international break.
The injuries mean that Koeman opted to play Frenkie de Jong in central defense against Paris Saint-Germain in midweek alongside Oscar Mingueza and Clement Lenglet. Junior Firpo also featured and impressed for 55 minutes after replacing Mingueza after he’d been booked.
Araujo could now go straight back into the team against Huesca as Barca aim to extend their 16-match unbeaten run in La Liga and keep up the pressure on Atletico at the top.
