Barcelona forward Ansu Fati’s recovery from knee surgery continues with the teenager hoping to start training on the pitch in three weeks.

Fati was originally due back in March but suffered a setback in his recovery that means there’s still no clear date when he will return.

La Vanguardia have an update on the youngster and report that his knee is no longer swollen and he’s currently in the gym every morning training.

Fati could start working with the ball at the start of next month and is still hoping to return before the end of the season and play in the summer’s European Championship.

The club seem impressed with the character he’s shown during what’s been a tough time. A source is reported to have said: “There were days when he had a bad time, but now he’s doing very well. Psychologically he has surprised us a lot, we must not forget that he is 18 years old.”

Barca are unwilling to put an exact date on when Fati will return but there seems to be real optimism that he will play again before the end of the season and that after a long spell out he’s finally “beginning to see the light at the end of the tunnel.”
