Barcelona defender Ronald Araujo has been talking about the possibility of winning a league and cup double with the Catalan giants this season.
The center-back says he is happy to talk trophies because winning the league looked fairly impossible earlier this year.
Barca have since gone on an 18-match unbeaten run that has brought the title back into future with the team now just four points behind Atletico with 10 games left.
“We know we have the two trophies very close. It’s a great motivation. We want to do the double and we will fight for them until the end.
“It’s great to talk about doubles because a few months ago we saw the league as very far away. The team is in very good shape. dynamic, very well put together. For me, raising cups with Barça, with this badge, would be a huge happiness.”
Araujo is also hoping that Koeman stays on as coach of the club and has praised the Dutchman for the way he’s turned the team’s form around.
“It’s very good that the board has confidence in Koeman because the boss has shown that he is a great coach. He is very good with the team and the locker room. This relationship is very important. I am very happy that he can continue with us, because he brings a lot to us , especially the young people.
“The work he had in front of him was not at all easy, considering how the whole situation was. But he is a coach with a lot of character, who knows how to deal with these issues. and their coaching staff have done a very good job. We are working well and that translates into the way the locker room is and the results.”
