Barcelona will reportedly wear a special new kit in the Champions League next season and the first images of what it might look like have been leaked.

We’ve already seen pictures of next season’s planned home kit, and it’s pretty weird, and the Champions League shirt looks unconventional too.

Mundo Deportivo have some images which you can see below:

Apparently the kit will be light red and blue and will feature a pattern that is inspired by “certain neighborhoods in Barcelona,” according to Catalan daily Mundo Deportivo.

It’s not clear why Barcelona fancy having a special kit just for European competition, although it has been done before back in 1994-95. There are also a few mutterings that it will help celebrate the 30th anniversary of the 1992 Olympic Games in Barcelona.

The decision follows on from the current campaign which has seen Barca wear five different strips throughout the season. The Catalan giants have worn their traditional blaugrana, the classy black away kit, the pink third kit, as well as the yellow and red ‘Senyera’ number which was first worn last season.

There was also the ‘Clasico’ kit that was supposed to only be worn in the game at Real Madrid but then came out again in the home draw to Atletico Madrid.
