Barca fancy ‘low cost’ Lisandro Martinez
Barcelona’s 2020-21 season is over which means it’s over to the rumor mill to keep us entertained until the football returns in August.
Mundo Deportivo are already on the case with news that Barcelona remain interested in Ajax center-back Lisandro Martinez as an option to strengthen the defense.
Martinez has been rumored with Barca before and the latest suggests he is seen as a good “low-cost option” this summer for the Catalan giants.
The 23-year-old is thought to be available for around €25 million and is “ready to take another step in his career” after impressing for Ajax.’
Robin Gosens at left-back?
Diario Sport are also thinking about the Barca defence and reckon Atalanta’s Robin Gosens is on the club’s shopping list this summer.
The defender won’t come cheap, around €40m probably, but the Serie A side may be open to player exchanges which may help out Barca.
The Catalan giants want to sell Junior Firpo and could also try to offload Jordi Alba if he doesn’t agree to take a pay cut.
Leo Jardim to replace Neto
Sport also reckon that Barca are looking at goalkeeper Leo Jardim to replace Neto who is expected to leave in the summer in search of more regular game time.
Apparently Deco has offered his former team Jardim. The stopper is currently with Boavista on loan from Lille and has an Italian passport so won’t take up a non-EU spot.
Jardim is “considered a good figure when it comes to team spirit” but Barca may be better off simply selling Neto and promoting Inaki Pena or Arnau Tenas instead.
