Barcelona are reportedly set to talk with the representatives of Sergio Busquets and Jordi Alba this week about the duo’s future at the club.
According to Catalunya Radio, Barca will also both players to consider taking a pay cut and accepting a lower salary going forwards.
The only problem is that neither player reportedly wants to start talks until they know who will be in charge of the club next season
Ronald Koeman’s future is far from secure with the latest report suggesting Joan Laporta has told the Dutchman he wants a couple of weeks to try and find a replacement.
Busquets and Alba want to wait and see who will be in charge which could have a big impact on their future plans.
Both players were regulars under Koeman last season but things could change quickly if Laporta brings in a new coach with fresh ideas.
Barca look set to make changes to their midfield this summer with Georginio Wijnaldum set to arrive on a free transfer from Liverpool.
The Catalans have also been linked with a few left-backs to provide competition to Alba such as AZ Alkmaar’s Owen Wijndal. The club could also decide to promote Alejandro Balde from Barca B.
