Ansu Fati is back in Barcelona to continue recovering from surgery performed to heal with his troublesome knee problems.

His left knee meniscus has required multiple operations, extending his absence further and further.

He was recently under the care of José Carlos Noronha, the head doctor of the Portuguese national team. He then went from Portugal to Madrid, where he was treated by the Spanish national team’s physio, Raúl Martínez.

Fati is now working with Xavi Elain in Barcelona with an eye towards being available for the start of next season. Fati’s injury began in November, and he was operated by Ramon Cugat, FC Barcelona’s go-to surgeon. He was thought to be out for four months, but he did not heal as expected. He received another operations, which did not fully heal him.

This led Fati to get a third intervention in March, which once again failed to fully solve the issue, Ultimately, his agent Jorge Mendes took him to Portugal to undergo a fourth process. They are hoping he will be ready in two and half months, which would allow him to take part in pre-season.
