Another summer of Neymar to Barcelona transfer rumors looks to be over after the Brazil international finally put pen to paper on a contract extension with the Ligue 1 side.
Speculation Barca could try to bring the forward back to the Camp Nou had ramped up over recent weeks but Neymar has finally committed his future to PSG.
The 29-year-old was heading towards the final year of his contract but has signed a deal that will keep him at the Parc des Princes until 2025 by which time he will be 33.
Here’s what he’s had to say about it all:
“I’m really pleased to continue my adventure at Paris Saint-Germain. I’m very happy in Paris, and proud to be part of this squad, to work with these players, a great coach and to be part of the history of this club. These are things that make me believe even more in this great project. I have grown as a person here, as a human being and as a player, too. So I am very happy to extend my contract and I hope to win many more trophies here.”
There are still whispers that PSG will try to sign Lionel Messi as a free agent this summer, although there is also increased confidence the captain will stay at Barcelona.
Neymar had reportedly been one of Barca’s top attacking targets this summer with Erling Haaland, Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay also regularly linked with the Catalan giants.
