Barcelona announced their second signing of the summer on Tuesday with Eric Garcia returning to the club on a free transfer.
Garcia returns home after three years at Manchester City and will officially become a Barcelona player on July 1 when his contract with the Citizens expires.
Garcia follows former Manchester City team-mate Sergio Aguero in making the switch to the Camp Nou and will sign a five-year contract with the Citizens.
Here’s Barca’s official statement:
“FC Barcelona and Eric Garcia have reached an agreement for the player to join the club from 1 July one his contract with Manchester City is at an end. The player will sign a contract until the end of the 2025/26 season and his buy out clause is set at 400 million euros.”
We will hear from Garcia later this morning when he is officially presented. The defender is then expected to join up with the Spain squad for the European Championship.
