Clement Lenglet has been talking about Barcelona and France team-mate Antoine Griezmann and feels the forward is unfairly judged.

The 30-year-old enjoyed a better second season at the Camp Nou in 2020-21, scoring 18 times and picking up 12 assists, but still came in for criticism at times.

There’s even been speculation Griezmann could be sold this summer, but Lenglet says the former Atletico Madrid is a key player for the Catalans.

“Antoine is a very important player for Barça, who made us change games, especially in the Copa del Rey,” he said.

“It was a positive season despite everything for Antoine, who is not always judged reasonably. He has the label of one of the best players in the world and the requirements are very high for him.”

Griezmann and Lenglet are together with the France squad for the Euros with Didier Deschamps’s side one of the big favorites. Les Bleus begin their campaign on Tuesday with a tasty-looking tie against Germany.
