Barcelona’s new home kit for the 2021-22 season may not be too popular among supporters but president Joan Laporta says he “really likes” the new strip.
The Catalan giants unveiled next season’s kit at the Camp Nou on Tuesday where Laporta offered his thoughts on the outfit.
“We always think that we can do better and that makes us grow as people, club and society. That can generate noise at times. I really like this shirt and thanks to Nike for this effort of imagination.
“Nonconformity makes us progress. The shirt is inspired by the shield and by everything that makes us one more club, and I hope that the members and fans will wear this shirt when they go to the Camp Nou, the Johan Cruyff or when they follow us around the world.”
Ansu Fati and Riqui Puig both appeared at the launch, while Gerard Pique also did his best to try and shift a few units with a post on social media.
Barcelona and Nike did a pretty good job with kits last season, but it’s difficult to see this one being too popular with supporters.
