Manchester United midfielder Donny van de Beek’s agent dismissed reports that his client asked to go to Barcelona. The Dutchman’s first year at Manchester United didn’t go as planned. He didn’t play to the potential that he showed at Ajax in previous years leaving some to wonder if he would be making an exit.
Simon Zwartkruis was the one who reported that Donny’s agent spoke about his client’s rumored desire to exit United, and he was quoted here.
“He (the agent) said it was complete bullshit,” Zwartkruis told Voetbal International.
“There has been a conversation with the trainer about next season.
“He just has to get fit quickly so that on day one, he is the strong Van de Beek they bought at the time.”
The thought process was that since Barca didn’t get Georginio Wijnaldum this summer, Van de Beek saw his chance to move to the Camp Nou. The move probably wouldn’t be immediate but might be something to keep an eye on.
