The Barcelona and Ousmane Dembele situation is one of the more complicated in football. The Frenchman has a contract that runs out in 2022 and he has yet to sign a renewal with the club.

Dembele is apparently in no rush to sign a new contract with the club. The youngster wants to bet on himself, and he chatted about that decision with L’Equipe this week.

“I don’t know, we will see. We will meet with Barça. I still have time, there’s no rush [for me] or for them, we will see what happens. Firstly, I am completely focused on the European Championships with France and then I will go on holiday. It has been a long season.”

Barcelona won’t want him to walk for free next summer, so there will likely be some traction on this in the coming weeks. If not, they’ll be forced to make a move in the winter transfer window.
