Barcelona’s decision to bring in Sergio Aguero and Memphis Depay this summer will strengthen the attack but could spell bad news for Francisco Trincao.

The youngster only arrived last summer from Braga but may be on the move again after finding it hard to make an impact at the club in 2020-21.

Trincao made 28 appearances in La Liga, but just three of those were a starter, contributing three goals and two assists.

Game time may be even harder to come by next season with Memphis and Aguero around and with Ansu Fati hopefully set to play a key role after returning to full fitness.

As for Trincao, well the youngster has “a lot of admirers” and could generate some much-needed cash for the Catalan giants this summer if he’s sold, according to Sport.

The report adds that offers have already arrived for Trincao. Most are to take the winger on loan but “a Premier League side have spoken about a possible transfer.”

The club is not named but it’s worth mentioning that Leicester City were linked with a move for Trincao last summer. There have also been a few whispers that the Foxes may be interested in taking Coutinho on loan.

It’s difficult to see Trincao featuring regularly in 2021-22 and an exit would be no surprise. A loan looks more likely with Sport adding Barca will only sell if they receive an offer that is for more than the €31 million they splashed out on the youngster.
