Monchu Rodríguez and FC Barcelona are in disagreement over the player’s contract, according to a new report. The player, who is on loan to Girona, argues that he should be allowed to leave for any club he wants to. But the club believes he is still under contract with Barcelona, and it’s up to them to first accept an offer from another club in order to complete his transfer.

The midfielder was set to join Girona permanently for 3.5 million euro should the Catalan outfit achieve promotion. However, they fell just short. And according to his agents, that means he is now free to negotiate with any club he wants.

However, Barcelona disagree. They claim that his contract is returned to the Camp Nou, and it’s up to Barcelona to find a buyer in order for him to get his move.

It’s rumored that Real Mallorca, who have recently gained promotion from Segunda, are heavily interested in Monchu to help them in La Liga next season.

Monchu is a former Barcelona B player who featured in a few matches for the first team as well.
