Marseille president Pablo Longoria has all but confirmed that Konrad de la Fuente will be heading to the French club from Barcelona.
The American is expected to leave the Catalans imminently and head to the Ligue 1 side with reports suggesting he’ll go for a fee of €5 million.
Longoria spoke about the 19-year-old on Thursday and admitted that it’s pretty much a done deal between the two clubs.
“We watched him all year round,” he said. “It all came about thanks to a good personal relationship, coordination with FC Barcelona and the power of attraction of Marseille.”
Konrad will reportedly sign a four-year deal with Marseille, while Barcelona will retain 50 percent of his rights.
The USMNT starlet was on the fringes of the first team last season but looked unlikely to feature in 2021-22 following the arrival of Memphis Depay and Sergio Aguero.
Konrad will now be hoping to can see some game time in the first team at Marseille under manager Jorge Sampaoli.
