Luis Enrique played down fears about Pedri being tired after a busy debut season with Barcelona ahead of the European Championship.

The 18-year-old missed Barca’s last game of the season after being given an early holiday by the Catalan giants.

Pedri played 52 times for Barcelona in 2020-21 and will now feature for Spain over the summer, but Luis Enrique is confident the youngster can handle the schedule.

“He has some incredible physical numbers, he’s one of the best in terms of stamina in Spain,” he said.

“They are starting to say that the topic is if he’s tired or not and one ends up believing it, but we have no doubt of his level and what he brings to the team.”
