Lautaro Martinez’s agent has addressed fresh speculation that Barcelona could move for the Inter forward and does not appear to be ruling anything out.
The Argentine came close to a move to the Camp Nou last summer but ended up staying with the Nerazzurri and winning the Serie A title with Antonio Conte’s team.
Yet the arrival of Joan Laporta as Barca president coupled with Inter’s financial problems have led to new rumors the Catalans could move for Martinez again.
Here’s what his agent, Alejandro Camano, has had to say about the latest speculation.
“We are very calm, we have to resolve the Inter situation first, but of course he would like it,” he said. “Who would not like to play for Barcelona? It is one of the biggest clubs in the world.”
“No one from Barcelona has called me. I have a good relationship with Mateu [Alemany], but there is nothing, so we are not thinking about it now. He is prepared for any challenge. Lautaro is a player who does not go unnoticed and can face any responsibility.”
Martinez won’t come cheap with the rumor mill claiming Inter want €90m for the Argentina international. There have also been reports Barca would have to sell either Antoine Griezmann or Ousmane Dembele to bring in a new forward.
