Barcelona confirmed on Friday that youngster Kays Ruiz has tested positive for Covid-19 after the latest round of testing.

The 18-year-old is said to be in “good health” but will now self-isolate at home.

Ruiz was signed by Barcelona B and had only just returned to the club on a free transfer from Paris Saint-Germain. The teenager had been training with the first team but will now be forced to take a break.

The midfielder is the third youngster to test positive in pre-season after Santiago Ramos Mingo and Ilias Akhomach recorded positive tests and were forced to miss the start of training. Ramos Mingo has since tested negative and returned to action on Friday.
