Barcelona are reportedly in talks with a Premier League club about a loan deal for France international center-back Clement Lenglet.

The two clubs are talking about a temporary move for 2021-22 that would include a mandatory purchase option at the end of the loan, according to Gerard Romero.

There’s no mention of which club Barca have been talking to about Lenglet but apparently it’s not Everton or West Ham United.

Everton had been linked with a move for Lenglet this summer. New coach Rafa Benitez was said to be keen on making the 26-year-old the new leader of his defence.

Lenglet is one of several players Barca are thought to be willing to sell if a decent offer arrives after a pretty awful campaign last time out for club and country.

The defender was a regular at the start of the season but lost his way, and his place, and may well not be a starter next season either if he does stay.
