New Barcelona signing Yusuf Demir has reportedly impressed Ronald Koeman in the early stages of pre-season training at the Ciutat Esportiva.

The 18-year-old has just arrived from Rapid Vienna on a season-long loan, with a purchase option, and is expected to start off with Barca B but has been training with the first team.

According to Mundo Deportivo, the youngster is the player who has impressed the most so far on the training ground and has shown a lot of quality.

Demir could get some first-team minutes later today when Barca play their first pre-season friendly ahead of the 2021-22 campaign against Nastic at the Estadi Johan Cruyff.

The Catalan giants are expected to give a number of youngsters a run-out as they will be without a host of big names who won’t be ready after featuring for their national teams at Euro 2020 and the Copa America.

Midfielder Nico Gonzalez is one player who had been tipped to start the game but misses out due to illness. However, 16-year-old Gavi has been included in a youthful-looking matchday squad.

The game kicks off at 7pm CEST and we will bring you all the coverage right here.
